oam-angular-collision-interference — operator-supplied OAM angular collision/interference variant
Minimal decisive protocol
Two-mode angular collision and contraction test
Collide two independently prepared OAM/multimode wave packets with controlled relative phase and angle, and discriminate a local angular-interference/contraction rule from linear superposition and detector artifacts.
- Calibrate angular alignment and phase delay.
- Prepare matched positive, negative, and zero-charge mode pairs.
- Sweep collision angle and relative phase in blinded order.
- Record full far-field and near-field complex readouts and test the declared angular contraction.
Decision rule: The proposed nonlinear angular rule survives only if its predicted phase/angle dependence and contraction signature beat the linear and no-collision controls within uncertainty.
Boundary: Declared mode pair, geometry, phase range, contraction rule, and detector band.
Controls
- ablated: Replace interaction medium with a linear reference path. (nonlinearity; Only linear interference should remain.)
- negative: Use zero-charge matched modes. (input OAM; No charge-dependent signature should appear.)
Observables and units
Observables| Observable | Units | Measurement | Uncertainty reporting |
|---|
| angular fringe phase | rad | phase-resolved far-field fringe fit | fit covariance and alignment error |
|---|
| output charge distribution | ℏ per photon | modal decomposition | report mode cross-talk |
|---|
Calibration and repetitions
- collision angle: fiducial angular grid — alignment residual below predeclared bound (rad)
Replicate unit: independent collision; minimum 36, independent 6.
Randomization: phase, angle, and charge-pair order randomized
Stopping rule: complete factorial block
Uncertainty: angle, phase, detector, mode decomposition, and medium drift; joint fit with calibration nuisance parameters; report model comparison inputs, not a confidence ranking
Success and falsifiers
Success
- The declared angular-interference signature is reproducible and absent from the linear reference. (model residual difference < predeclared difference normalized residual)
Falsifiers
- The signature is fully explained by linear interference, alignment, or detector cross-talk. (nonlinear model improvement <= predeclared minimum improvement normalized residual)
Required capability groups
- angular-analysis · required, any-one, quantity 1: phase-resolved multimode field analyzer (system) — near-field and far-field acquisition
Related capability types: Phase-resolved OAM and multimode sorter
Confounds and raw artifacts
- angle-dependent clipping changes the mode basis: monitor aperture and power; mitigation: repeat with oversized aperture
- near-and-far-field-trace · HDF5 · retain raw frames and phase logs
Nonclaims
- An interference or contraction signature does not establish a new conservation law.
- No collision result, quantum claim, contraction law, or computation claim is admitted.
Provenance boundary
The citation supplies OAM context only; it does not support the proposed angular collision, interference, or contraction rule.
